Sara Davis - Coastal Living
I became a licensed real estate salesperson in Auckland, at the age of 19 and worked in Auckland and Wellington before returning to my place of birth - Tauranga. I understand that many different circumstances surround the decision to buy or sell a home and I am empathetic to every client’s situation and needs. Whether it be your first home, your first sale, or an addition to your property portfolio, I can promise you my commitment, integrity and confidentiality.
What is important when choosing a real estate agent to market your home?
(1) Market knowledge
When it comes to selling your home, it is so important to engage an agent who really understands market trends and understands the area and location of your home. The property market goes through certain fluctuations depending on a number of things, eg; the number of homes on the market at the time of listing your home, interest rates, the banks’ lending criteria etc, so it is very important to appoint an agent based on their overall market knowledge.
(2) Open communication, honesty and integrity
This one is also very important. You want to engage a real estate agent that will give you an honest opinion of what your home is worth, who will be honest enough to tell you if something needs to be tidied up in your home, who will not inflate what they think your home is worth just to get the listing. Make sure your agent is really working for you, with your best interest at heart.
(3) 100% availability
We all know how frustrating it is when you have enlisted the help of an agent and they can not be reached via phone and email at the times you really need them the most. I understand that selling your home can bring on a number of mixed feelings and emotions, including excitement, nerves, feeling overwhelmed and sometimes the feeling of pressure of finding a new home to move into. I pride myself in always being contactable and available to answer any questions or concerns you may have and returning calls/emails as promptly as possible to put your mind at ease.
(4) Choosing someone you find relatable
One of the most important things when looking for the right agent, is finding someone you really click with. Your agent is someone who you will be seeing regularly for several weeks! It’s important that you feel like they relate to you and your situation and really understand the circumstances that have bought you to the market in the first place. If you have full trust in your agent, find them down to earth and relatable – you are winning!
