I’m Chris Meban and I have 30 plus years of rural experience. I was born in Gisborne and until 2008 had lived there all my life. I am a 5th generation farmer who had run the 2,300 ha family dry stock farm, running 20,000 stock units.
I started my working life shepherding on large East Coast sheep and cattle stations before completing a Diploma of Agriculture at Massey University. After a two year working holiday in Europe and Africa, plying rugby and shearing sheep, I returned to the East Coast farming scene.
In 2008 the family farm was sold and as a result I moved to Rotorua. This was because of the central location and outdoor environment that Rotorua offers. My wife Jenny and I purchased a 55ha lifestyle farm in Hamurana running sheep and cattle. I have many interests outside of work – hunting, fishing to name a few.
My interest in the farming scene and the rural community has led me to the challenge of rural Real Estate.
To me real estate is about achieving the best possible result for my clients and ensuring that the process is a positive one. Creating a marketing plan that will target the right buyers and gain as much attention along with consistent and timely communication with you the Vendor and the buyer will assist in getting that much wanted ‘SOLD’ sign up.
I know my market, and have fabulous communication skills and I have a tremendous track record of sales over many suburbs and all price ranges. I understand the target market for each property I offer for sale and am able to quickly identify the most effective way to reach those buyers.
My commitment to you:
I will apply the farming ethics of hard work and honesty to your real estate needs.
Clint Brereton
Colliers Tauranga
Licensed Real Estate Salesperson (REAA 2008), Member of the REINZ
With over 30 years of experience in the agricultural sector, specializing in dairy farming and the food processing industry, Clint has joined the Colliers Rural team covering the Bay of Plenty and the Waikato.
Clint started out in a family business designing and building dairy sheds. He developed this business to have national presence in Australia working with some of the largest dairy farms in excess of 15,000 cows, providing support for farmers to effectively manage the welfare of their cows.
From 2013-2016, Clint was appointed lead Project Manager and Company representative for Hancock Prospecting’s move into agriculture on the Hope Dairies Project. Managing key relationships with company stakeholders and Government representatives, Clint was responsible for leading feasibility studies, negotiating and procuring farms and equipment, and creating/heading up a team to manage and develop farming and processing operations over 5000 Ha and project value of $500million.
On a smaller scale, Clint has also set up and developed his own dairy goat farm in Tasmania, securing contracts with both Coles and Woolworths to sell marinated goat cheese across Australia.
His career expanded internationally with animal welfare companies from Israel and Austria in business development roles in Australia and New Zealand with a main focus here in New Zealand. Clint has achieved great success for Afimilk (Israel), developing a strong dealer network and support team across New Zealand which forged a successful strategic partnership with New Zealand’s industry leader in genetics, LIC.
He was then recruited by Smaxtec (Austria) to help with their introduction to New Zealand with an innovative device that sits inside the cow’s rumen measuring key data points, such as rumination and core body temperature, giving the farmer vital information around the welfare of their cows. Serving as Country Manager, he has built key support relationships and research programs with Fonterra, Dairy NZ and LIC, looking at the future and sustainability of dairy farming in New Zealand. With these roles Clint has travelled to all parts of New Zealand, giving him a great understanding of farming, and creating strong networks within its community.
With years of farm-focused experience behind him, Clint offers a no nonsense, down-to-earth approach that accounts for the realities of agricultural and rural properties. As his work history shows time after time, returning exceptional results is always a firm focus for Clint.
