Welcome to Ohiwa Harbour Studio.
With breath-taking views over the Ohiwa Harbour, your view is ever changing as the tide rolls in and then recedes back to the ocean. Abundant bird life will entertain you as you relax on the deck, listening for calls from tui as they cheekily gossip to each other in the trees and across the hills. Enjoy mesmerising sunsets over Ohope and Moutohora/Whale Island.

The harbour is directly across the road and is easily accessible for your kayak or paddle board. Enjoy a stroll to the beach or an invigorating walk to Bryans Beach over the Onekawa Te Mawhai Regional Park. This trail has magnificent views all the way to East Cape. Stay a couple of nights or use this as a base to discover some fantastic cycle trails, in and around Opotiki. Only 35 minutes to Whakatane or 15 minutes to Opotiki, this is a great location to get away from it all, but still with the convenience of towns and shopping nearby.
You will have the opportunity to observe birdlife that you may not have encountered before, including godwits, dotterels, oystercatchers, plovers, herons, royal spoonbills and of course weka and tui.

The studio is well appointed, with a stove top, microwave, benchtop oven, kettle, fridge and toaster.

The entire downstairs area is accessible for guests.

Ohiwa is a coastal community nestled on the harbour's edge and Waiotahe Beach. The harbour is renowned for great fishing and boating.

A vehicle is required to get in and around Ohiwa
